If we run advertising, here are the rules it lives by — and the wall between it and our editorial judgment.

Advertising and affiliate relationships never influence our rankings, scores, recommendations, or which products we choose to cover. Editorial decisions are made independently of any commercial relationship. A product that pays us nothing can — and regularly does — outrank one that does.
Any advertising, sponsored placement, or paid partnership is clearly labeled as such and kept visually distinct from editorial content. We do not publish “native” advertising designed to look like an independent review, and we do not let advertisers write, preview, or approve editorial copy.
We decline advertising for products that are unsafe, illegal, fraudulent, or that make claims we cannot substantiate against primary sources. We do not accept payment to remove or alter honest criticism, and we do not accept payment for a specific ranking position.
Most of our revenue today comes from affiliate commissions, not display advertising. How that works is explained in how we make money and disclosed in full in our affiliate disclosure.
