Furostanol saponins may modestly support androgenic activity and partially inhibit aromatase and 5-alpha-reductase.
A meta-analysis of four randomized trials found fenugreek extract significantly raised total testosterone versus placebo. However, the pooled evidence rests on few, mostly small, often manufacturer-funded studies of branded extracts (e.g., Testofen), with heterogeneous outcomes. Some trials report better effects on libido and well-being than on hormone levels, and a recent placebo-controlled study found negligible change in plasma testosterone. Overall the signal is real but weak and inconsistent.
